The San Francisco 49ers are set to wait until day two of the 2023 NFL Draft before making a selection due to having traded away their first three picks. The Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers each received a pick from the 49ers in the trade. San Francisco will have to look outside the organization to upgrade their roster, as they lack the high-end picks to improve through the draft. Despite trading away their first-round picks, the 49ers made it to the NFC Championship last season behind a deep roster, but they will need to improve their depth after losing some rotation players in free agency. The only key starter they lost was Mike McGlinchey, who signed with the Denver Broncos last month. With 11 draft picks at their disposal, including seven on the final day, the 49ers have the opportunity to address their positional priorities, including right tackle, backup tight end, and cornerback. Here is a complete list of the 49ers' NFL Draft 2023 picks: - Round 3, Pick 99 overall - Round 3, Pick 101 overall - Round 3, Pick 102 overall - Round 5, Pick 155 overall - Round 5, Pick 164 overall - Round 5, Pick 173 overall - Round 6, Pick 216 overall - Round 7, Pick 222 overall - Round 7, Pick 247 overall - Round 7, Pick 253 overall - Round 7, Pick 255 overall Despite not having a high first-round pick, the 49ers will have the opportunity to add quality players to their roster on day two of the draft. Here's a look at who they might select in the first three rounds: Round 3, Pick 99: OT Tyler Steen, Alabama Steen is only 22-years-old and has played on both sides of the line. He's athletic but needs to work on his technique, which could cause him to fall to the third round. Round 3, Pick 101: S Ji'Ayir Brown, Penn State Brown needs to improve his tackling, but his athleticism and potential make him an attractive pick. His first NFL season will be crucial to his development. Round 3, Pick 102: EDGE Byron Young, Tennessee Young has good speed off the line and should find success as a rotational edge rusher in the NFL. At 22-years-old, he has time to develop his skills further. The 49ers will have their work cut out for them in the 2023 NFL Draft, but with their strong foundation, they could find key contributors in the later rounds to improve their depth and keep them in the playoff hunt.
