The NFL draft is just around the corner, and this year's quarterback class is highly anticipated. Among the prospects is Ohio State's C.J. Stroud, who at one point was considered a possible top pick. However, as the draft approaches, Stroud's stock has been falling rapidly. Recent reports indicate that Stroud's S2 test score, a standardized test used to evaluate a player's intelligence and decision-making skills, was the lowest among this year's quarterback class with just 18 out of 100. This has only added to the growing concern about the Ohio State quarterback's draft prospects. With the first round of the draft just a day away, Stroud was asked to comment on these reports. He stated that he is not a great test taker but believes that the people who are making the picks know what he can do. Nonetheless, the uncertainty around his draft stock still looms. Once considered a possible No. 1 pick by the Carolina Panthers, Stroud's draft prospects have taken a hit with the team set to go with Bryce Young instead. Additionally, the Houston Texans are not showing much interest in Stroud, which could leave him waiting for his name to be called on draft day. Despite the setbacks, scouting reports indicate that Stroud is a natural passer with an exceptional ability to launch the ball into tight windows. His control over everything happening on the field, from adjusting protection to making audibles, is praised. Stroud boasts accuracy and consistently puts the ball in the right spot, manipulating the pocket with mastery. While his passing mechanics are fantastic, Stroud's weaknesses lie in his athletic abilities and being productive with his legs. Improvements with the sense of urgency when the pocket gets muddier and getting out of it quicker, as well as anticipation of throws, are also areas he could work on. Overall, Stroud is still considered a top prospect and worthy of a top 10 pick in this year's draft. Experts warn that teams who pass on him may regret their decision for a long time, and he could even wind up as the best quarterback in the 2023 class, despite Young going first.
