New York Knicks player Josh Hart has now played in the NBA for eight seasons. But how has he established himself in the league? Many may not know that Hart's journey to the NBA began with his love for basketball at a young age. As a kid, Hart already excelled in basketball. But not all prestigious schools offered him a spot on their team then. Despite this, he still had a successful high school career playing for Sidwell Friends School in Washington D.C. During his junior year, Hart averaged 20.6 points and 11.6 rebounds. In his senior year, he led the team to a 22-9 record, averaging 24.3 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game. It was no surprise that he caught the attention of several colleges. In the end, Hart enrolled at Villanova University, where he had an impressive college career. During his first year playing for the Wildcats, he averaged 7.8 points and 4.4 rebounds per game, and he was named Big East Rookie of the Week three times. In his second year, Hart was awarded the title of Big East's Sixth Man of the Year after the regular season ended, scoring 10.1 points and grabbing 4.5 boards per game. But it was his junior year that earned him national recognition. During that year, he scored a career-high 27 points in a game and led the league in scoring at 20.7 points per contest. He was unanimously chosen for the first-team All-Big East and received the title of third-team All-American from the National Association of Basketball Coaches. As he entered his senior year, it was expected that Hart would have an outstanding year. He was honored with the title of Preseason Player of the Year and was included in the Associated Press preseason All-America team. Hart didn't disappoint throughout the season, scoring a career-high 30 points in a game and surpassing that with an impressive 37 points later on. After completing all four college years with Villanova, Hart decided to enter the NBA Draft in 2017. The former Wildcat was selected 30th overall by the Utah Jazz and eventually traded to the LA Lakers on draft night. Fast forward eight seasons later, Hart is now playing for the New York Knicks and enjoying a playoff run with the team. It's clear that his hard work, dedication, and talent have taken him far in his basketball career. So, Josh Hart's position in the league has roots in his early years, where he already stood out as a promising basketball player.
