Engineering Project Manager (Design Lead)

We’re looking to hire an Engineering Project Manager (Design Lead) to our team, who will have the opportunity to participate in the design of state of the art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities.

The Engineering Project Manager (Design Lead) will be responsible to work with our lead engineers, design teams, and Sr. Project Managers to identify, understand, and manage the scope of work, schedule, and budget of various design packages. This person will also coordinate with various disciplines within the organization and will be an integral part of problem-solving complex design challenges.

This position is an onsite position located in the N. Phoenix area.

Responsibilities

MANAGING THE PROJECT

Preparing the project plan, establishing control procedures, monitoring progress, and making adjustments as needed to ensure project goals are being met.

Working in tandem with our lead engineers, design team, and senior project managers to identify, understand, and manage the scope of work, schedule, and budget.

Performing field verifications / site walks to identify and resolve design problems.

Coordinating meetings and establishing all paper flow and document control with client, contractors, regulatory agencies, and others involved—including RFI responses.

Reviewing and approving client billings and assisting with account collections, as needed.

DEMONSTRATING AGILITY

Completing work assignments of increasing complexity, working within an established framework of scope, schedule, and cost under moderate supervision (with some latitude for independent judgement).

Applying critical thinking, learning agility, verbal and written communication, and prioritization on a daily basis.

Displaying a commitment and attention to detail and quality control while demonstrating professionalism under pressure.

Successfully collaborating in a fast-paced environment, managing upwards of 10-30 small to mid-sized projects of varying levels of complexity.

DRIVING SUCCESSFUL DELIVERY

Communicating client requirements to each discipline to ensure our work complies with client and project standards as well as contract requirements.

Leading internal meetings, documenting meeting minutes / action items, and helping drive open items and bring project constraints to closure.

Ensuring the overall financial success of the project.

Qualifications

Qualifications You’ll Need on Day One:

Prior experience as a Design Lead, design Project Manager, or similar role.

Ability to work well in groups and across multiple offices, including interfacing with international locations.

An Associate degree in a related engineering field (i.e. civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, process, or structural).

4+ years of relevant client-facing experience within the AEC industry.

Computer literacy and basic drafting skills with prevailing software platforms.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Additional qualifications would be a plus (but not required):

A Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field (i.e. civil, electrical, mechanical, industrial, process, or structural).

3+ years of relevant client-facing experience in semiconductor tool install or related experience.

A Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.

A Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
