Springhill Medical Center is a full service hospital serving southwest Alabama. Our surgical services include outpatient, inpatient, open-heart and robotic surgery. The hospital is equipped with the latest diagnostic equipment, meaning doctors have advanced technology to help them quickly determine a patient's health problem. Springhill's unique heart center offers state-of-the-art services all under one roof. The campus is also home to primary care physicians, a senior residence, sleep center, cancer center, orthopaedic surgery center, wound care & hyperbaric center, and an emergency department staffed by all board-certified emergency medicine physicians.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Telemetry I/3200 is a 27 bed unit. Working on a telemetry floor presents the opportunity for all nurses to learn and understand how to identify, interpret and manage cardiac rhythms, as well as receiving continuing education on cardiac treatments, medications, and cardiac drips. In addition to cardiac patients, Telemetry I/3200 cares for pulmonary patients (pneumonia and COPD), gastrointestinal patients (gastrointestinal bleeds, small bowel obstructions), ICU step down patients (tracheostomy care, percutaneous endo-gastric tube management, total parenteral nutrition management, foley catheter management, wound care).
Requirements:
Validation of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
Applicant must be a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant, Paramedic, EMT, or currently enrolled in a nursing program. If enrolled in a nursing program, completion of Fundamentals of Nursing is a requirement, and documentation is required.
Three years of prior medical experience is preferred.
All employees are required to be vaccinated or provide a valid medical or religious exemption.

Must be dependable, hardworking, and a team player with a good attitude and professional behavior.
Applicants will be responsible for vital signs, assisting nursing personnel, and helping patients with basic daily needs.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate and carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently.
