SPA is hiring an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to provide systems, cybersecurity engineering, and architecture support to our Liberty Station office in San Diego, CA. This role additionally works with our corporate IT and Cybersecurity Teams in supporting enterprise engineering and architecture across the company. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in networks, information systems design, and cybersecurity defense-in-depth engineering (with experience in DISA, NSA, and/or major vendors (Cisco, Dell, HP, etc.) best cyber practices. The selected individual will provide technical solutions to meet the requirements of the company, clients, and cybersecurity risk management.
Responsibilities
Conducts comprehensive technology research to evaluate potential vulnerabilities in information systems
Designs, develops, tests, and evaluates information system solutions, architectures, and security throughout the systems development life cycle
Tests, implements, deploys, maintains, and administers the infrastructure hardware and software
Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design
Handles the full range of security issues including network and system architectures, firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxy, data traffic analysis, flows and performance, and network access controls
Designs and develops new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer cyber systems and networks
Owns the architecture, design, and system diagrams for multiple existing and new IS/IT ensuring version control and management of artifacts to support cybersecurity assessment and authorization packages
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
Integrates new architectural features into existing infrastructures, designs cyber security architectural artifacts, provides architectural analysis and relates existing system to future needs and trends, provides engineering recommendations, and resolves integration/testing issues
This is a technical leadership / subject matter expert (SME) role who will mentor 2 functional leaders

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Salary pay range: $130,000-$145,000
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology discipline, or related field
At least 9 years of directly or closely related experience
DoD 8570 IAM Level 2 or 3
Excellent customer relations and customer support skills
Experience working in a team-oriented, global, collaborative environment
Active Secret Security clearance
Desired Qualifications
DoD 8570 IASAE level 2 or 3 certification
Active Top Secret Security clearance
