We currently have an opening for an ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT SERVICE TECHNICIAN SENIOR at our Torrance, California location. In this full-time hourly position, you will maintain high-voltage power supply systems that are used to test traveling wave tubes (TWTs) and other products.

Responsibilities

Determines sequence of operations and services computers and electronic equipment by:

troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, modifying and checking out various types of electronic equipment, including equipment used in testing electronic, electrical, and electromechanical components, units, and systems where complete specifications and design details are frequently lacking and a comprehensive knowledge of electronic principles and knowledge of software used in automatic equipment is required.

Must be able to work on equipment that operates up to 100Kv.

Works from schematic drawings, blueprints, commercial handbooks, special engineering specifications, oral and written instructions which require interpretation and application of experience and judgment to determine most appropriate methods.

Responsible for solution of both electronic and mechanical problems.

Serves as senior specialist in the repair and servicing of electronic equipment and computers.

Determines sequence of operations.

Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and makes major repairs or modifications on any piece of equipment used to check out systems, units, and components.

Calibrates, aligns, and repairs delicate instruments in conjunction with high accuracy calibration equipment.

Develops troubleshooting techniques through application of technical experience and knowledge of software to perform extensive diagnoses of faulty electronic equipment and computers which do not respond to standard techniques.

Calibrates, troubleshoots, and tests developmental electronic equipment.

Conducts tests, using specially designed equipment and resolves problems as they occur until design specification and performance requirements are verified.

Records and reduces test data as required, and prepares reports, charts, and graphs for presentation to cognizant supervisor.

May use hand and power tools and equipment, as necessary, in order, above duties.

May provide assistance to personnel in lower related job classifications.

Qualifications

Must have at least a minimum of 8 years in electronics experience, a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivilent experience.
