The welder position is responsible for following daily or weekly work directions from team leads/supervisors, following all safety protocols and keeping materials flowing in the plant. The position requires a highly-motivated individual with good work ethic who is willing to be hands-on and flexible to meet the needs of our customers.


Aluminum Welder Responsibilities:

Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions utilizing either GMAW or GTAW.

Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding

Prepare all material surfaces to be welded in accordance with cleanliness and bevel requirements

Cut aluminum extrusions to length as needed using saws

Detect faulty operation of equipment or defective materials and notify supervisors

Examine workpieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications

Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade

Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment

Analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations

Mark or tag material with proper job number, piece marks, and other identifying marks as required

Maintain welding equipment

Inspect completed work to ensure quality requirements are met

Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torches, and hand tools


The qualified candidate will have:

Must be at least 18 years of age

Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

The ideal candidate will have:

Aluminum welding experience

Completion of an apprenticeship and/or certification
