Pillar Innovations is now accepting applications for a Sr. Fire and Security Technician.

Responsibilities

Installing Fire Alarm System components

Running a variety of styles and sizes of conduit to electrical devices

Configuring and programming installed components

Performing work tasks in a detail oriented and methodical fashion when troubleshooting issues

Maintaining a professional and courteous manner while representing Pillar in the field, and answering customer questions as necessary

Identifying potential value-added sales opportunities to increase company revenue

Working patiently with customers, and maintaining communication to keep them informed

Assisting with paperwork and documentation for accurate record keeping, billing and inventory

Maintaining company tools, equipment and vehicles in a professional manner

Responding to emergency situations during and after hours

Qualifications

Valid Driver’s License required

High School Diploma or equivalent

5+ years of fire alarm/electronic security experience preferred

Experience reading blueprints desired

Technical knowledge of fire / security technologies

Possess a working knowledge of personal computers and software applications to aid in installation process

Ability to work under stressful situations and meet deadlines

Be able customer focused, and able to work independently and/or with co-workers

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers and customers

Must be dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude

Willing to work a flexible schedule that may include travel, out-of-town work, weekends, extended hours and call-out work

Willing to participate in a background and drug screening process

Working Conditions

Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel

Sit/stand for extended periods of time

Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations

Wear safety equipment: as per OSHA/MSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.

Be safety and customer-focused, without exception

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. In accordance with The Company’s Drug and Alcohol policy, employees are required to participate in random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing as requested.
