We are currently seeking an Electric Distribution Engineer to join our Electric Distribution Team based in Blacksburg, VA. We welcome applicants seeking a flexible hybrid work environment allowing for time at home, in the office, and travel to client sites.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA’s distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skill set to plan, design, and permit electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze, and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems.

At CHA, the Electric Distribution Engineer plays a key role in the design, development, and technical analysis of various electric distribution projects for our clients including pole replacements and reconductoring. This individual will monitor progress and performance to ensure projects are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements. REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred

Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience working for a utility is required

Proficient in engineering, computational, and modeling programs such as GSI Distribution Design Studio (DDS); STORM work management system and AutoCAD experience is a plus

Valid Drivers license required

Ability to travel locally (50%+) and work outdoors in various weather conditions is required

Specific experience working with AEP and Appalachian Power Co is a plus
