We are currently seeking a Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our American Fire Team at our Birmingham, AL and Charlotte, NC office location.

American Fire, A CHA Company, offers highly specialized fire protection engineering services and cutting-edge solutions to the most challenging fire protection projects. Our knowledgeable staff manages complex industrial, commercial and design/build fire protection projects, including sprinkler systems, fire pumps, ground storage tanks, underground piping, and special hazards.
The Fire Sprinkler Inspector is responsible for completing inspections of fire sprinkler systems (tanks, pumps, specialty systems, wet pipe, dry pipe, underground, hydrants, backflows, etc.) in commercial and industrial buildings according to NFPA standards. This position will also maintain all inspection-related paperwork through a 3rd party web-based service and will communicate with local, state and county AHJ’s regarding inspection reports. The Fire Sprinkler Inspector will support and grow current customer relationships and target new customers for all services provided by American Fire.

REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent is required
OSHA 30 Training required or must obtain within 30 days of employment (AFP will pay for training)
A minimum of 5 years’ industry experience required
NICET level II in inspection testing and maintenance preferred
Knowledgeable in all facets of fire protection
Ability to perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as working within crawl spaces, climbing a ladder, outside in the heat or cold, on lift equipment, or dirty environments.
Ability to work at heights in a man lift and lift 50+ pounds above head
Strong working knowledge of all sprinkler systems
Must have excellent communication skills and positive customer service attitude
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
Must be team oriented with the ability to lead
Must be willing to travel around the southeastern US
Valid driver’s license required
