We are currently seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join our Electric Transmission Team welcoming applicants with ability to work from a client site office located in Spring Valley NY.

YOUR IMPACT
CHA’s experts have decades of experience planning, designing, and permitting electrical power delivery infrastructure, including overhead and underground transmission lines and substations. We’ve designed hundreds of transmission, distribution, and customer-owned substations and switching stations (15kV up to 300 MVA transmission stations). We’ve also designed mobile transformers and substations up to 25 MVA and 161kV.
The Transmission Line Engineer will be part of an expert team providing quality support and services to a client located in Rockland and Orange Counties. This individual will be the lead engineer and will manage transmission line design projects from start to finish. In this role, having technical knowledge and experience focusing on structural design and tensioning of cables will be key to success. The right candidate will have the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with both their team and other project teams. This a unique opportunity to work closely with a client on-site . REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering required
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
Minimum of 4 years of discipline specific engineering experience required
Demonstrates a strong knowledge of the respective engineering discipline with the proven ability to practically apply engineering best practices
Some knowledge of project management fundamentals is a plus
Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software, specifically PLS CAD, is required; transmission line design experience is preferred.
Familiar with QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
An active role in a professional engineering society/organization is a plus
Valid driver’s license is required
