CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Engineer I to join our Electric Distribution Team based in Richmond, VA.

YOUR IMPACT
CHA’s distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skill set to plan, design, and permit electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze, and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems.
Working closely with professional engineers, the Engineer I assists in the design, development, implementation, and technical analysis on various projects to suit individual client needs. At CHA, our Engineer I works on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.
The Engineer I aids in preparing technical reports, contract documents and cost estimates and performs simple calculations and engineering design using the standards established by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the company, group, client, etc. The Engineer I attends field assignments when appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or other engineering discipline is required
EIT certification is preferred
No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn about the respective engineering discipline
Familiar with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist mid and senior level engineering and project management staff
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
Ability to navigate in the field and travel locally on occasion required
