As a Warehouse Assistant/Delivery Driver, the general role is to provide assistance organizing/ executing deliveries and general labor to a wide range of trades through various construction, mechanical and industrial projects. This is a semi-skilled position that requires a mechanical knowledge and aptitude, along with a basic knowledge of general construction trades.

The Warehouse Assistant/Delivery Driver will report to the Assistant Division Manager and will work out of the Charleston location.

Pillar Innovations is currently accepting applications for a Warehouse Assistant/Delivery Driver.

Responsibilities

Execute weekly delivery routes

Assisting in a variety of work that may include but not be limited to: assembly, inventory control, loading job trailers/organizing job shelves, and general labor

Providing materials handling and storage/organizing inventory

Loading and unloading trucks, tools, and receiving deliveries

Staging tools and materials and assisting skilled workers as required and organizing trailers

Utilizing hand tools and power tools safely and effectively

Providing detailed paperwork, and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory

Maintaining company tools, equipment and vehicles in a professional and workman-like manner

General building maintenance as needed (shoveling, pulling weeds, taking out trash, stock safety glasses, etc.)

Following proper safety and incident reporting procedures

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license required

1+ years of general construction, building or mechanical experience or equivalent technical education and training

Knowledge and experience working with concrete and/or welding preferred but not required

Must possess knowledge of materials, equipment and tools used throughout construction trades to include the ability to utilize a measuring tape

Must be dependable, trustworthy, and possess a positive and productive attitude

Must be able to work well with co-workers in a team environment

Ability to balance multiple projects

Demonstrate a keen awareness of safety and safe practices

Able to work a flexible schedule and adjust to changing business needs to include possible work involving emergency call-out, extended hours and some out-of-town and overnight work

Willing to participate in the company’s background and drug screening process

Working Conditions

Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneel

Climb poles; carry, set-up and extend ladders weighing up to 65 pounds, as well as work with confidence on ladders and utility poles at heights of up to 60 feet in the air to perform tasks in communications spaces

Work indoors, outdoors, and underground in various weather conditions

Able to walk long distances

Able to lift up to 65 pounds without assistance

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening. In accordance with The Company’s Drug and Alcohol policy, employees are required to participate in random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing as requested.
