Job Summary

As the leader of the water team in the Waikato, you will be responsible for managing a three waters team as they deliver projects on time and within budget, identify business opportunities and grow the team. This role will suit an experienced engineer who has relevant local experience and established contacts.

As a leader of the Waikato Water team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a water business through the engagement of existing and new clients, technical leadership and project delivery. You will work on complex, large scale projects that deliver great outcomes for our clients. As a key member of the Waikato leadership team, you will collaborate regularly with our national Water leaders to support project pursuit efforts and to help harness the full value of our global expertise to create valued water solutions.

Our team has built an excellent reputation for delivery to our clients, has a full current order book and multiple opportunities to grow the order book over the coming years. Your role will be to build on this reputation, continue strong delivery and build a diverse business to engage the team in challenging and interesting projects, growing the team to meet the market needs.

Role responsibilities:

Managing client relationships and maintaining regular client contact to solicit feedback on project delivery performance, and taking appropriate actions to remedy issues should they arise;

Engaging, and being hands-on, in the management and delivery of projects through to successful project completion;

Technical pursuit planning, bidding, and technical delivery leadership;

Creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual project delivery, technical and client challenges, determining technical objectives and requirements, and developing standards and guides for technical activities and applications including quality assurance;

Mentoring junior and mid-level staff

Minimum Requirements

15+ years’ relevant experience preferably in a consulting environment with exposure to delivering large scale water infrastructure projects

Track record of successfully leading teams

Existing experience in the NZ market with an established client network is preferred

Solid experience in leading teams to win and deliver projects

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant Degree
