Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a Vice President of Finance to provide support to the Corporate Headquarters Office located in Frederick, MD. This position would be responsible for developing, monitoring, and distributing financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and government regulations.  The position also manages the pricing function and performs contract negotiations, analysis, and administration; proposal preparation; and customer contact related to contract acquisition and fulfillment. 


Responsibilities



  • Serve as the strategic advisor and business partner to the Edgewater leadership and management teams.

  • Provide strategic leadership in planning, budgeting, and forecasting the functions of the Chief Financial Officer Department including the development of department goals, objectives, and systems all in support of Edgewater’s strategic goals.

  • Develops, monitors, and distributes to management essential financial operating budgets, reports, and forecasts.

  • Reviews annual and intermediate budgets periodically to analyze trends affecting budget needs. Includes the preparation of the budget calendar and plans the budget process.

  • Responsible for negotiating allowable overhead with government.

  • Responsible for the development of financial management data reflecting financial condition and operating results. 

  • Participates in the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and all filings for submission to the SEC.

  • Reviews and analyzes monthly financial statements, and quarterly and annual financial data, as well as preparation of internal management analyses. Coordinates the quarterly review and annual audit and consolidated financial statements with independent auditors.

  • Responsible for the preparation of pricing for all new business proposals, change proposals, and task orders including, but not limited to, fixed price, cost type, time and materials, and IDIQ contracts.

  • Provides in-depth knowledge of FAR/DFAR and other applicable government regulations; reviews and approves Request for Proposal (RFP) and proposal documents for protection of the company’s pricing posture, satisfaction of customer specifications/requirements and adherence to company policy.

  • Ensures company-wide estimating system compliance, as well as advises management of pricing rights/obligations and provides interpretation of RFP requirements.

  • Represents the Company as a prime internal and external contact on programs and projects for the Pricing function.

  • Reviews complex solicitations and prepares specialized and/or non-routine pricing response for proposals, bids, and contract modifications.


 


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, or related field with 18+ years of experience or a Master’s with 16+ years of experience.

  • At least 6 years progressively responsible management positions within the context of the government contracting industry. A portion of that experience in a large business is preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of FAR/DFAR and other applicable government regulations.

  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the executive management team that provides company leadership and direction.

  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.

  • Experience in generally accepted accounting and pricing principles and government regulations.

  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.

  • Experience with compliance requirements of various financial reporting, pricing, and contract laws and practices in the government contracting environment.

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Active affiliation with appropriate financial management and pricing networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement preferred.

  • Possess ongoing affiliations with leaders in successful companies and organizations that practice effective financial management and pricing preferred.
