We are seeking a Vice President of Business Development who is passionate about helping foundations adopt new technology to strengthen their grantmaking. This is an opportunity to join the leadership team of a fast-growing SaaS company and engage with some of the most forward-thinking leaders in philanthropy.

The opportunity

You will build and lead a high-performance sales team, set sales goals, forecast SaaS revenue, and build our sales engine. The ideal candidate has scaled revenue in SaaS organizations to at least $10m+ ARR, including implementing the processes, tools, culture, and playbooks to support predictable, efficient growth. You will help GivingData build a stellar team as our company continues to grow, providing effective team management, including goals definition, planning, processes, recruiting, and skill development. You’ll help promote a client-centered culture by maintaining innovative, product-led approaches that address client pain points and interests while meeting department goals. In addition, you will foster collaborative relationships with leaders of our Client Success and Product teams to support the sales function.

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Own all new logo, expansion, and renewal revenue.
  • Define and implement strategies, plans, and OKRs that support the achievement of our revenue goals.
  • Recruit and manage a team of high-performing sales professionals.
  • Create territories, quotas & compensation plans to help support the achievement of our goals and targets.
  • Create an accountable, data-driven culture. Report revenue results to the company, executive leadership, and the board.
  • Develop relationships with Marketing, Client Success, and Product teams to maximize opportunities for positive collaboration that support our revenue growth.
  • Oversee and guide one-on-one and team pipeline reviews, deal strategy sessions, meetings, and training sessions to ensure ongoing improvement, goal attainment, and sales process adherence.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and accountability for the sales team, setting expectations for performance, and improving productivity and results. Create and implement processes and standards in support of team goal attainment.
  • Manage team skill development and coaching for improved performance across the entire team.
  • Create forward-looking departmental plans to support our future growth targets.
  • Evaluate and implement sales enablement tools and ensure adoption of existing tools, including Hubspot, Asana, Apollo, LinkedIn Navigator, and Confluence.
  • Ensure sales metrics and other internal data are meticulously maintained in Hubspot, with reports and dashboards readily available to GivingData’s leadership team. Surface valuable analysis and thoughtfully articulate insights, action items, considerations, etc.
  • Define and oversee a successful onboarding process for new team members.

Your experience

  • 5-10 years sales leadership experience, managing high-performing teams who consistently meet & exceed quota.
  • Previous experience building and scaling sales organizations from early-stage to at least $10m ARR.
  • Experience in B2B SaaS sales.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and enjoy solving complex problems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the B2B SaaS software market, preferably in the nonprofit or public sector.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and a strong ability to demo product features and capabilities of greatest importance to clients.
  • Highly motivated to thrive and work independently for a fast-growing company where all team members work remotely.
