The Engineering team at Whatfix provides end-to-end engineering throughput that forms part of core platforms and services that drive Whatfix's business.
Our team is responsible for creating the Customer Platform and everything around it - be it Analytics, Infrastructure or Core Algorithms. The team owns and is responsible for all pieces that we design, build and support end to end for Whatfix product/ business.
On a monthly basis, millions of interactive guides are processed. Building, testing, and deploying to any of our environments are as simple as pushing a commit to a git branch. We like to keep our technology up-to-date. All of the technology is built and maintained by this small development team, so from day 1, the software you write will be used by people from all over the world.
Whatfix is looking for a Technical Program Manager to join our Engineering team to drive Success Engineering practice and critical Engineering projects.
You would be a part of an innovative, cross-platform, customer-obsessed team, working on building a digital adoption platform in an innovative environment. The team rewards intellectual curiosity while maintaining the direct market product focus.
In your role, you will need to be equally comfortable working on technical aspects of product engineering with a room full of developers and need to appreciate customer priorities while working with Whatfix Customer Success Managers.
On your projects, you'll need to be able to anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and articulate trade-offs, and balance the customer needs versus technical constraints.
You should be able to take large, complex technical projects/tasks and break them down into manageable pieces, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner.
Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.
To do all this, the right candidate will possess a strong program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading large customer-facing projects, and will have a well-rounded technical background in current development technologies.
You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, while always keeping the needs of our customers as your highest priority.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Overall 8+ years of SW development experience with more than 3 years of technical program/project management experience with proven ability to track and managing release schedules.
Experience leading cross-functional teams of developers, designers and test engineers to deliver projects with multiple dependencies and constraints
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and establish credibility with technical stakeholders and executives.
Documenting and presenting program progress to cross-functional teams and company executives and analyzing the trends to come up with mitigations wherever necessary
Be flexible and adapt to the needs of your stakeholders in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Previous (strong) software development experience.
Experience with agile software development and project management methodologies.
Experience defining programs, writing detailed functional specifications and delivering projects that meet rapidly evolving business needs.
Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests/enhancements/bugs, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
