Introduction to the role,The role will be to lead delivery on mobile and internet channels for features of customer products like lending, Mortgage, Insurance, Payments etc. within India Digital Organization.,The person will drive the build and development of specific features on digital channels, and will be responsible for strengthening and enhancing existing engineering teams and will manage senior technology & business change stakeholders in India and UK. , The role holder will lead software engineering teams, should have very good experience of working in an Agile environment. The person should have deep knowledge of Java and Spring frameworks. , Should be strong hands on DevOps methodology ensuring best of class quality of code and engineering practices. The person will provide hands on engineering leadership and should have a good understanding of microservices architecture and Domain Driven Design. , Knowledge of responsive web application or mobile app development on Android , iOS will be an added advantage. Having exposure to cloud and containerization experience, ideally on AWS, will be an added advantage.Roles and Responsibilities,Strategy and Delivery1. Responsible for the Digital feature delivery teams in India working with Global stakeholders.2. Manage the technology delivery activities associated with channel engineering cutting across mobile and internet digital platforms.3. Drive resolution of delivery related issues and any other challenges coming in the way of teams, performance.4. Lead the on,going delivery of features into dgital channels and production break,fixes after implementation5. Provide technical guidance to the team; establishing priorities, providing oversight for complex problems6. Continually assess operational needs; develop and implement system and workflow enhancements that drive improved efficiency, lower operational expense, innovation and superior client experience.Governance and Risk1. Directly manage associated vendors and optimal member experience requirements. Effectively communicate regular performance, vendor status and strategic initiative updates to organizational and enterprise executives.2. Understand, own and role model Barclays values and create an environment that supports these3. Accountable for establishing and managing all applicable internal audit and regulatory exam submissions and results, delivering a robust methodology of transparent and monitored controls.4. Leadership of the local India based feature team that will be a mix of permanent and vendor staff.2. Understand the needs and challenges of stakeholders involved in projects, and negotiate satisfactory resolution to issues surrounding technology investment decisions and design direction.3. The role requires the ownership and clear articulation of challenges, structured evaluation of potential solutions.2. Proven analytical and problem solving skills, with broad knowledge of complex landscape architectures in Digital Financial services.3. Lead analysis of the current technology environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement. Design and support the implementation of resilient, scalable solutions for the domain area.4. Lead analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the architecture of the transaction cycle.Required Qualifications , 1. 12+ Years of Technology application development , engineering roles with deep exposure to server side technologies like , Java, Spring, and any of the client side responsive frameworks like Angular, React or native mobile application development on Android , iOS.2. Experience of leading small or medium sized software engineering teams (20+) preferably with Banking , Financial services organizations3. Ability to transcend from component to application to enterprise design & architecture and appreciation of relevant concerns4. Exposure to omni channel architecture e.g. Online banking, Mobile Banking channels.5. Have deep knowledge of server side architecture patterns and such as MVC, event driven patterns, etc. and CI,CD practices.6. Knowledge of client side development for Web using responsive UI frameworks or Mobile application development on iOS,Android7. Be fluent with high available system design concepts8. Have knowledge of databases RDBMS and in,memory databases.9. Be fluent in cloud ecosystems such as AWS (preferred)10. A team player that is appropriately assertive and can gain consensus for his,her views relentless sense of urgency, strong intellectual horsepower, a thorough and insightful problem solver with a can,do attitude and demonstrated results11. Must be able to lead firmly in a co,operative way, through facilitation and stewardship, and by co,operative delegation, while making optimal use of the highly qualified resources available in order to achieve business goals12. Excellent communication skills that can transcend both junior and senior audiences13. Experience with agile delivery methods at a high level of maturity14. Experience of leading, managing and coaching a high performing application,software development team.15. Ability to lead and facilitate evaluation and selection of software technology and product standards, as well as the design of standard configurations16. Ability to scale up and should be able to manage various levels of stakeholders17. Demonstration of partnering and working through potential conflict at all levels of the organisation to get the role done
