Job Description


Neutron is a medium lift launch vehicle capable of delivering the mega constellations of tomorrow, high assurance payloads, and human spaceflight. As a highly reusable launch platform, Neutron will deliver a highly cost-effective and reliable launch solution leveraging Rocket Lab’s proven execution history with the Electron program. 


You will be part of a diverse team of engineers and technicians working on the development of the Archimedes rocket engine for Neutron. Archimedes is a liquid oxygen and methane gas generator cycle rocket engine. We are looking for someone with a structural analysis or thermo-fluids analysis background. You must have 3 years of relevant industry experience and a strong grounding in applying FEA, CFD and heat transfer analysis to real world problems. This role will support development work on the combustion devices, turbomachinery, plumbing and structures of the Archimedes engine.


  • Relevant experience from prior employment (3+ years)

  • Working knowledge of liquid rocket engines including but not limited to thrust chamber assemblies and turbopumps

  • A strong work ethic and capable of performing under pressure

  • Ability to provide and clearly articulate technical direction
