Daktronics manufacturing follows a focus factory concept paralleling four markets: Live Events, High School Park & Rec, Commercial, and Transportation. Commercial Manufacturing builds displays for customers including financial institutions, hotels and motels, gaming, auto dealers, convenience stores, shopping centers, outdoor advertisers (billboard), and other retail establishments.

The Commercial Manufacturing Plant located in Sioux Falls, SD will support the billboard and fuel light niches within the Commercial market. The Plant will be responsible for the timely and quality production of digital billboards, fuel lights displays, and additional products as business needs demand.

Schedule will be Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with overtime as required.

Effectively, accurately, and safely perform all shipping duties.

Plan and organize shipments for the week and communicate this plan to Plant and BU leadership in a timely manner.

Schedule truckload shipments utilizing online tools Navisphere, and LTL utilizing ECHO.

Professionally interact and communicate with others, including internal and external resources.

Preparation of documents for domestic and international shipments including bill of ladings, packing list, commercial invoices, certificate of origin, and others.

Shipment preparation including pulling parts, packaging, and verifying per customer order.

Load trucks by safely operating forklift, crane, and telehandler. Drive tractor trailer with CDL certification.

Assist in movement and organization of finished goods.

Complete and pass the crane, telehandler, and forklift certification within 90 days.

Accurately perform shipping inventory duties ensuring completeness and thoroughness of transactions.

Assist with damage freight shipments, customer relations concerning shipments, expedited shipments, and rate quotes.

Must be flexible and able to change priorities when asked or needed to meet ship dates.

Daily perform 5S and other Lean tasks.

Preparation of documents and shipment of hazardous product.

Become knowledgeable of company policies and procedures.

Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires.

Assist final assembly as needed - shrink wrapping of displays or building wood crates.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

High school diploma or GED is required. Associate degree in a business-related field is preferred. Other Associate degrees will be taken into consideration. Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, inventory, or materials management is preferred. The understanding of materials flow in a manufacturing environment also preferred.

CDL certification preferred or willing to obtain CDL.

Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required. Experience with Glovia, UPS WorldShip system, and Navisphere preferred.

Good math skills and demonstrated ability to accurately record number sequences.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills. Fluent in English, written and verbal.

Physical requirements include the ability to:

Work in an environment with these types of smells: paint, solvent, and solder.

Frequently lift 35 lbs. Occasionally to frequently lift 45 lbs., in some work areas.

Stand for the full shift with planned breaks. The duration of standing between breaks varies from 2-3 ½ hours depending on work area.

Work from heights, including working from ladders and platforms.

Reach in all directions (up, down, side-to-side, and diagonal reaching), including some awkward reaching to insert components in difficult to reach sections of the product.

Maintain steady hand/eye coordination.

Identify wire and paint colors.

Read fine print.

Ability to use power tools such as saws, nail guns, shrink wrap tool, etc.

Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.

Ability to work with minimum supervision.

Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, electrostatic discharge wear, and others as determined necessary by Daktronics Risk and Safety Department.

Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.

Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.

Ability to meet all workplace safety requirements, which includes following safety protocols related to COVID-19.
