Job Summary

The SVP Diagnostics Global Operations is responsible for creating and directing an integrated team to achieve the operational key business objectives of the Diagnostics BU, to provide superior products and services to Meridian customers worldwide, work collaboratively with Life Science and Corporate counterparts, achieve functional excellence in Operations, and ensure all Meridian Diagnostics operations are conducted incompliance with all legal, regulatory and Meridian requirements. Sets strategic direction and leads the operations of the Diagnostics Business Unit for all global locations including, production planning, manufacturing, purchasing, inventory control, warehouse operations and facilities management. Will lead the planned consolidation of manufacturing sites into the Cincinnati location. Will play key role in due diligence of potential M&A Targets. This position is also responsible for development and implementation of the Corporate Business System in whereby lean initiatives and execution of these initiatives are involved. This responsibility will cross over both the DX and LS business units and will help drive the cultural change towards a continuous improvement orientation.

Key Duties

Leads Global Operations activities.

Develops strategic plans for the operations activities in line with Company objectives to drive revenue and profit growth.

Interface with business, corporate, and functional teams ensuring consistency & alignment of strategies.

Builds the Corporate Business System Lean team and plan to execute initiatives of the system to ensure smooth implementation and execution throughout Diagnostics BU and supporting the LS Operations efforts on continuous improvement

Leads the Operations team setting goals, monitoring performance, and securing the talent, resources and tools necessary to meet Company objectives.

Oversees operations to ensure efficiency, and that products are manufactured in accordance with quality and regulatory guidelines. Works in partnership with Executive Leadership to ensure supply chain capabilities and manufacturing capacity is in line with business needs, produces product in accordance with production plans.

Defines strategic priorities and ensures that capabilities are in place or are being developed to deliver on strategic decisions.

Design & implement management systems to measure progress towards attainment of strategic goals.

Develops and maintains an organizational design that is aligned with the achievement of overall business objectives and is responsive to customer needs. Creates an environment that is oriented to exceeding customer expectations with particular emphasis on quality and service.

Oversees contracting activities related to major suppliers.

Works together with S&M and R&D to transfer product successfully from R&D to large scale production for commercialization.

Additional Duties

• Participates in the evaluation of new technology and acquisitions.• Other duties as assigned.



Education in a business-related field with a Bachelor's of Business Administration Degree or equivalent.

15+years of progressive experience in executive leadership positions in operations required.

At least 10 years of experience with Lean initiatives and execution within an organization

Experience operating in a regulated life sciences and technically complex product environment

(Diagnostics experience preferred.)

Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Abilities

Experience leading diverse groups within an organization..

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills for dealing with employees at all levels.

Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Lean/Six Sigma Certification preferred.

Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to read, understand and follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) andguidelines.

Metric-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to comprehend broad sets of data.

Computer proficiency at an intermediate level (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality requirements.

May be required to work additional hours outside the normal work shift (including evenings and weekends) as needed to ensure departmental goals are met.

Ability to handle information in a confidential manner.

Demonstrated ability to successfully achieve results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Hold self and others accountable, appreciate others needs and perspectives, and commit to ensuring an inclusive environment.

Strong business acumen.

Proven ability to take a high level vision/strategy, then develop and implement a people strategy/plan that gets results.

Knowledge in production, manufacturing, operations and diagnostics industry.

Requirements (Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands):

Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs throughout the work day in a multi-location facility.

Ability to work on a PC including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse for long periods throughout the course of the work day.

Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time, reach, bend, stoop, lift throughout the course of the day.
