Role Description


We are looking for an outstanding Senior Brand Designer to join our new KAYAK Hotel Team! This is a senior role working closely under the Art Director and with the Experience Director defining the future of brand direction for KAYAK Hotels.

In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative organization, cross functionally working with KAYAK’s Accommodations Operating System Tech Team, Global Brand Design, Product Design, Marketing Design, and Design System.

You will be responsible for conceptualization, brand strategy, identity development, and delivery of final designs. Strong presentation skills that assist in explaining and substantiating design direction are critical.



  • Work closely with the Art Director, Global Brand Design Team and Experience director to direct and determine concepts and visual direction for KAYAK Hotels

  • Lead design of print collateral projects from concept through production

  • Assist with the concept and execution of photo and video shoots for new hotel openings 

  • Create external and internal facing presentations to support the executive team 

  • Lead the design for future brand partnerships/collaborations and initiatives

  • Interact with, present to, and explain creative concepts and design systems to internal partners of all levels

  • Align with wide array of stakeholders in the organization to deliver brand assets 

  • Incorporate brand concepts into complete, cohesive brand identities

  • Be autonomous. Take full ownership of your work and full responsibility for every last detail. Own the success or failure of your design work

  • ‘Systems Thinking' of how to approach design and each of the areas it impacts, both now and in the potential future.

Required Skills

  • Experience designing at consumer-focused companies 

  • Expert knowledge of print, digital, and environmental design and production

  • Proven experience creating concept pitches and creative presentations

  • Excellent command of design fundamentals including typography, balance, harmony, negative space, photographic cropping, color theory, grid, etc.

  • Strong understanding of branding, how to create a branded system for campaigns and sub brands.

  • Understanding of cultural trends, the industry and marketplace.

  • Excellent communication skills together with analytical thinking and problem-solving capability. Able to break down and simplify complex problems and being confident at presenting to a mixed audience of different levels in the organization.

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed and prioritize.

  • A curiosity to learn and a willingness to be adaptable as new and different challenges constantly emerge.

  • A strong portfolio of previous work, either online or in a PDF.


Bonus Skills

  • Proficiency in Illustration skills

  • A demonstrated ability with automating workflows

  • Familiarity with high-fidelity mockup and prototyping tools (ie Sketch & Abstract, Figma, Principle, Invision, Framer)

  • Knowledge of working with CAD files and architectural design in general.

  • Formal education in design, a BA/BFA/MFA degree.

  • Experience working on design projects within the hospitality industry.
