Sales Operations Analyst - D321

Purpose of the position

Reporting to the Director, Sales and Channel Enablement, you provide comprehensive operations support to the global sales team. The Sales Operations Analyst will work closely with various teams at SMART to promote the needs of the sales team, leverage internal processes, generate short and long term forecasts and track large opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Performs in-depth, quantitative, and qualitative analysis of customer data to identify trends, and measure performance to improve understanding of the business 

Leads the development of monthly, annual and multiyear forecasting. 

Seeks opportunities to improve sales pipeline accuracy and is a key member of process improvement teams within SMART.

Change management in the utilization of sales tools, pipeline systems, partner portal and sales enablement platforms. 

Collaborate with regional sales leadership on sales and channel strategies.   

Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis to support the sales organization  Works closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Service 

Identify areas for improvement in current sales tools and processes and work with cross-functional teams to recommend and build solutions. 

Lead weekly forecasting calls with regional sales leaders to review the sales pipeline and provide leading indicators that will drive the business.

Provide pre-sales support to the North American sales team through responding to field inquiries and providing information to assist in the development and closing of sales opportunities

Liaise with various internal SMART teams and external stakeholders to facilitate the resolution of issues and the overall growth of the business

Work closely with Sales Leadership during the forecasting process to understand large opportunities, summarize upsides and risks and identify opportunities to streamline processes

Assist with the collection and accessibility of customer data to enable the achievement of strategic initiatives and field marketing efforts

Generate reporting when necessary for sales and operations management, providing insightful analysis relevant to the request. 

Performing other duties as required

Education and work experience

Degree or diploma in business administration, marketing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

5-10 years’ experience in sales operations management

Experience working with CRM and ERP databases. Experience with Salesforce.com is preferred.

Advanced level of experience in Microsoft Excel

Solid business acumen and understanding of financial statements

Sound decision-making abilities and proven follow-through skills to ensure issues are fully resolved

Highly organized and self-motivated; able to manage multiple tasks while functioning effectively as a team member under pressure

Must have a high attention to detail and be flexible in a changing environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Superior work ethic and proven interpersonal skills

Analytical, problem-solving, organizational and project management skills, with an attention to detail
