Overview

Responsibilities



  • Promotes a culture of health by educating and administering testing, evaluations, safety rounds, and screenings that support employee health, safety and well-being programs.

  • Recognizes, educates and advises workers on identifying, reducing and eliminating health and safety risks in the work environment and addresses any potentially unsafe equipment or procedures.

  • Assesses immunization status of staff to prevent the spread of communicable diseases. Provides education about preventing exposure to communicable diseases as well as post-exposure evaluation and surveillance for employees exposed to potentially infectious diseases.

  • Collaborates with Employee Health and Safety team to implement and coordinate injury prevention programs, ergonomics, respirator protection program, annual influenza campaign and the Safety Committees

  • Evaluates information and data to continually assess current state; engages with key stakeholders to problem solve and effectively manage change for optimal employee health, safety, and well-being.

  • Communicates and coordinates case management activity with injured worker and appropriate individuals including: supervisor/manager, Human Resources Business Partners, third party administrator, physician, etc.

  • Schedules and executes Mandatory testing and vaccination per CDC recommendation

  • Monitors employee compliance and reports to HR Director or designee

  • Participates in process improvements to contribute employee health subject matter expertise; develops and presents employee health, safety, and well-being data to leadership.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements



  • NLN Accredited School of Nursing. Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Registered Nurse - NJ license.

  • Five years of clinical nursing experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Workers' Compensation and Occupational Health experience preferred

  • AHA BLS - Healthcare Provider,Registered Nurse - NJ

  • Requires TNCC (or must obtain within 1 year of hire) AND 8 hours of Trauma related Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours if assigned to: RMC ICU/CCU, RMC Surgical Trauma Unit, RMC PACU, Emergency Department (all campuses)

    Requires NIH Stroke Scale Certification (or must obtain by end of orientation) AND 8 hours of Stroke related Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) contact hours if assigned to: Critical Care, Emergency Department, Neuro Units, Cardiology Inpatient at Hopewell, Peds/Peds ED.

     



    • Requires ACLS (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to: Critical Care/Intermediate/Telemetry, Emergency Rooms, Pediatrics/Pediatrics Emergency Room, Labor & Delivery, Surgical Services (not to include Perioperative), Interventional Procedures, Observation.

    • Requires NRP (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to: Maternity Services, Emergency Room RMC/Deborah

    • Requires PALS (or must obtain within 6 months of hire date) if assigned to: Emergency Rooms, Infant Follow-Up, Surgical Services (only PACU & Same Day Surgery), Pediatrics/Pediatric ED. ENPC accepted in lieu of PALs for Adult Emergency Room


  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to develop rapport and maintain positive relationships with a variety of staff and physicians. Good organization, prioritization and problem solving skills.

  • Workers Compensation and OSHA Regulations knowledge, Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel, Certifications in audiometry, drugs of abuse collections, breath alcohol testing, or spirometry testing, fit testing preferred.

  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy under pressure. Possesses flexibility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills. Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
