POSITION:  Philanthropy Officer
STATUS:  Full-time, Benefited, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Director of Development
Competitive salary based on experience, with a range of $55,000 - $65,000. Benefits include, health, dental and vision insurance, employer contribution and match on 403B contributions, 8 weeks paid parental leave, paid holidays, vacation and sick time.
The Philanthropy Officer is a passionate advocate for sexual and reproductive health care and rights who is deeply motivated to help donors reach their philanthropic goals while advancing the mission and vision of Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri. 
The Philanthropy Officer is responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive Annual Fund program including direct mail and in person/virtual solicitations, cultivation, and stewardship strategies. This person in this position will have the opportunity to work with incredibly passionate donors as they build upon one of Planned Parenthood’s top Mid-Level Giving programs in the country.  This position will play a critical role in identifying, qualifying, soliciting and stewarding new and donors across Missouri and the Metro East to expand the base of support for patients seeking expert, compassionate reproductive health care.  The ideal candidate is someone who thrives equally when working with individual donors as well as writing direct mail stewardship and appeals.
·         Maintain and manage a portfolio of approximately 100 Mid-Level individual donors (giving $1,000 - $4,999 annually), including conducting regular in person/virtual meetings and other communications.
·         Work closely with the Director of Development on all aspects of the Annual Fund, and Direct Response giving (e.g. Give STL Day), including design, content, timeline, and segments.
·         Develop an annual stewardship strategy, that aligns with an existing Development calendar of activities and resources, and/or developing new stewardship tools and tactics 
·         Manage relationships with external vendors and internal departments to meet annual giving deadlines and goals.
·         Build and maintain positive relationships with individual donors, volunteers, and community stakeholders
·         Work collaboratively with the Director of Development to establish revenue goals for the fiscal year and monitor monthly results compared to goals
·         Write/update acknowledgment and thank you letters, pledge reminder copy, and other development communications; Work closely across Development team to develop and manage consistent messaging to donors and prospects that aligns with solicitation and donor-specific stewardship communications.
·         As part of the individual giving team, work effectively with the VP of Development, Major Gift Officer, and Director of Development to build the major and mid-level giving pipelines by identifying new donors and building strategies for engaging and encouraging donors to give at higher levels.
This position requires the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Candidates must have reliable transportation for travel within Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri territory.  Some travel is required to events, meetings, and out of town conferences. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.
1.       Speak with donors by telephone when they call with questions or concerns and handle in a professional and courteous manner. 
2.       Collaborate with colleagues in the Development Department and other PPSLRSWMO departments in the identification and implementation of donor centric programs, actions, and activities.
3.       Other duties as assigned, including general support of the activities of the Development Department.

2.       Protects PPSLRSWMO's assets from liability including but not limited to assuring proper informed consent has been obtained for any and all medical interventions requiring patient’s consent.
3.       Assures for the physical safety of PPSLRSWMO clients, staff, and volunteers
4.       Protects confidentiality of all PPSLRSWMO clients, donors, Board and all areas of operations
5.       Follows HIPAA privacy and security guidelines

Familiarity with CRM software and databases, are preferred; knowledge of DonorPerfect and EveryAction are a plus.
