At Therma° we are combating climate change by building the smart cold chain. We’re a mission-driven team of experienced entrepreneurs, engineers, and food industry professionals creating IoT-powered technology that ensures safety and sustainability, from farm to fork. 


We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily activities, staffing, team-building, sustainability and culture development initiatives, as well as to own our hardware fulfillment process. As an ideal candidate, you’ll have a proven success coordinating multiple departments to achieve maximum productivity. Our ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver, highly process-oriented, quick to analyze a problem and even quicker to work toward the solution.


This role reports to the CEO and is remote (PST time zone working hours expected).


KEY OBJECTIVES



  • Maintain Maintain constant communication with management, team members, and vendors to ensure proper operations of the organization

  • Identify areas of operational improvement across the organization, implementing and enforcing processes to support rapid company growth

  • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity

  • Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget

  • Develop, implement, and maintain hardware fulfillment process and quality assurance protocols

  • Track staffing requirements, coordinate hiring processes with our internal and external recruiters

  • Plan and coordinate company wide meetings, retreats, and activities


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Lead, motivate, and support the Therma team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including the strategy, development, staffing and maintenance of new processes, tools and initiatives

  • Work closely with senior management team to create, implement and roll out plans for operational processes, reporting systems, company wide goal setting/planning, performance management and company policies all designed to foster growth and efficiencies within the company

  • Manage timely data collection to update operations metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellence

  • Partner with cross-functional teams in improving team communication, collaboration and culture; examples of initiatives include:

    • Driving a multi-nodal remote team concept (developing hubs in 2-3 cities)

    • Designing workshops, schedules, and standards for our quarterly onsites

    • Developing a “Therma work culture” doc (how do we use Slack vs. email? What do you need to ask about vs. just do? How should you interact with other teams, other teams’ managers, etc.)





  • Work closely with HR, Recruiting, Legal and Finance departments to make sure activities are effectively coordinated and completed

  • Oversee materials and inventory management


ABOUT YOU



  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent a plus

  • Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Exceptional process-definition, project management and organizational abilities

  • Strong analytical and data manipulation skills (Excel, Google)

  • 3+ years of proven experience in an operations management or business strategy position

  • Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations 

  • Trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes

  • Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications

  • Experience in working with technology-related products

  • A love for food and sustainability

  • $90,000 - $110,000

  • 0.15% - 0.25% equity
