Manager, Global Regulatory Compliance

We are looking for a dynamic, resourceful, highly organized, and team-focused Manager, Global Regulatory Compliance to support our Technical Operations team. The successful candidate will integrate into the TerraCycle Global Operations Team.
Prevent, mitigate, and control environmental compliance risks from operations, supply chain, equipment, and materials to protect employees, the business, communities, and the environmentMonitor, interpret, and assess existing or emerging environmental and sustainability laws, regulations, regulatory policy, and industry practices; determine and communicate operational and business impactsProvide service, solutions, programs, best practices, and technical guidance to business management and support functions to manage compliance assurance and risk mitigation and ensure continuous improvementAssess current and proposed operations globally and develop plans for environmental compliance continuous improvement including but not limited to: material assessment, acceptance, and handling facility and operations permitting and environmental compliance,material movement and logistics, data and document retention and reporting national, regional, and local business advocacy Act as primary technical contact for Sales and Business Development on environmental compliance matters.Function in a leadership and tactical role regarding agency enforcement actions, regulatory proposals, permitting issues and negotiations, technical environmental and scientific support, assessment and control of environmental compliance items Assist in management of compliance consultant scopes of work, deliverables, and associated timelines. Perform audits and reviews to: regularly verify environmental compliance of operation determine if corrective measures are required support responsible business initiatives and conformance to standardsCollect, measure, analyze, and report on national, regional, and environmental compliance-related metrics and KPI performances to ensure all data collection, documentation, document retention, and reporting requirements (internal and external) are metSupport the development of environmental and sustainability training for TerraCycle employees, vendors, and other key stakeholders, as required. Assist in the management of regulatory agency and external stakeholder (including client) environmental compliance activities, including reporting, visits, or inspectionsCarry out the above responsibilities with tactical support from TerraCycle teams including, but not limited to, the Recycling Solutions (vendor management), Legal, and Tactical Operations teams.
BS or MS in a scientific or engineering field or equivalent experience5+ years’ experience in an environmental compliance and operations or engineering functions with increasing leadership responsibilityExperience in multi-national regulatory jurisdictions, including the UK and countries within the European Union a plus.Possess a detailed understanding of global and environmental legal requirements (i.e.: regulations, codes, standards, directives, and administrative policies) Work well with limited supervision while being responsible for project management, compliance assurance, risk mitigation, and environmental managementExperience prioritizing and managing multiple and technically complex assignments concurrentlyOrganized, analytical, detail-oriented, and a problem-solver with project management skills and focus on resultsExperience leading and motivating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and diverse environmentExperience developing and implementing goals and strategies based on broader organization goalsUnderstanding and experience relating to company or organization registration/certification ESG-related standard(s)
