Overview

Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery a level II neonatal intensive care unit a nationally accredited cancer center comprehensive neurosurgery advanced orthopedic program and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.

The Maternity Center at CHI Health Good Samaritan has 19 L&D private patient rooms. We are a Level II NICU and we provide care for patients from antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum, including mother-baby care in our Maternity Center.

Compensation: Base rate + shift differential

Incentives: $15,000 sign on bonus, up to $10,000 education assistance (must have graduated within 5 years)

Nurse Residency offered for all New Graduates

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse RN, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.

Additional responsibilities for this health care role include:

Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs

Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients

Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments according to physicians’ orders

Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families

Qualifications

Education:

-Graduate of an RN nursing program

Licenses & Certifications:

-Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska.

-Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required within 5 months of hire.
