GIS Records Technician BSOPublic Works – Operations Support
Contract Full-Time, Duration: 13-months
 
Reporting to the Supervisor, Business Systems and Operations, you will be asked to provide support and expertise in the following areas: 
 
Your responsibilities will include:

Conduct research and analysis to provide service in a high-volume environment, producing departmental information for internal and external client requests.
Accurately read GIS (Public Works Regional Asset) related DGN/CAD drawings.
Execute investigative searches using multiple resources relating to various inquiries regarding properties in Peel for the purposes of providing water, wastewater, storm and transportation infrastructure information.
Analyze CCTV Reports to determine location of the sanitary lateral connections.
Coordinates the transfer of files from records storage facility and Regional Archives to client.
Ensure documents being released are secure and in accordance with legislation and corporate policies.
Perform document imaging on KIP-860 of archive files for record management and client requests.
Shop drawing identification.
Monitor shared ZZG mailbox.
Will meet all required deadlines.

 
What do we require:

College Diploma/University Degree in GIS/CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) plus one or more years of experience or College Diploma/University Degree in earth-study related field (e.g. geology, geography, geophysics, civil engineering) plus one or more years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Thorough knowledge of Hansen, Prisim, GeoMedia Professional, MicroStation, PAL and EIM is an asset.
Expertise knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills with polished communication both written and verbal.
Extensive customer service abilities, organized and able to work independently.
Effective time management skills with ability to prioritize workload based on importance.
Ability to adapt quick to an ever-changing environment.
Team player with ability to work productively with minimal supervision.

 
Location: In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 10 Peel Center Drive, Brampton worksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario. 
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
