Financial Analyst (Dealership)

Our Client    

Our client is one of the most well-established luxury vehicle retailers in Canada and features the most exclusive brands in the industry. Established in the ’70s, they’re actively growing its market share by acquiring several new dealerships throughout North America. Championing a team culture of enthusiasm, care, and patience, they are looking for a bright candidate to step in and join the leadership team.      

The Opportunity    

As such, they are currently seeking to hire a Financial Analyst for their Toronto location. Working closely with the entire accounting department, this individual is responsible for generating detailed reports from an existing database of closed deals in addition to segmenting those reports to the manufacturing clients. You will produce financial statements and conduct variance analysis and WIP reporting. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role offers a tremendous opportunity to grow with one of Canada’s most respected luxury vehicle retailers.

Key Responsibilities     

-Create, analyze, and finalize the annual financial statement and expense reports for a multi-franchise dealership    

-Internal reporting, variance analysis, GLs, need to understand WIP reports, generated from financial statements    

- Reconciliations, GL, annual budgets for the whole dealerships   

-Manufacture reporting, after financial statements, communicate with the associated brands, and execute different reporting deadlines  

-Inventory management, accounting policy   

-Deal information on car sales information, maintain the database after sales, and ensure a clean database     


-Bachelor’s degree in a related field

-Minimum 3 years of hands-on accounting experience (preferably in a dealership environment)   

-Experience with Variance Analysis and WIP Reports -Intermediate level Excel (V-Lookups, IF AND Statements, Pivot tables)

-Experience with CDK AND/OR ERP systems   

-CPA designation is considered an asset

-Ability to deal with confidential information appropriately    

-A hands-on roll up your sleeves attitude     

-Strong attention to detail and a high level of integrity     

-Be able to explain technical financial data in an understandable manner
