We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join the FinTech domain.

FinTech - Controlled and transparent money flows - both for our mobility customers and our mobility providers.

Location: You can join us either in one of our offices in Hamburg, Berlin or Barcelona or 100% remotely in one of the 10 countries where we have a legal entity**

Your responsibilities:

  • Ensure a sustainable delivery of your team and always push for perfection

  • Integrate and collaborate with other disciplines and other tech leads as one team

  • Develop and improve processes and software development techniques together with your team

  • Help your software engineers to grow: Help them with their weaknesses and foster their strengths, provide frequent feedback and set goals

  • Foster autonomy in decisions and processes of your squad

  • Work with the recruiting team: Not only on attracting but also on retaining and onboarding new team members


Your profile:

  • You have a strong software engineering background, preferably you've been building software systems with Java or Kotlin for multiple years

  • You're familiar with financial processes such as charging customers, creating invoices, providing data to accounting

  • You know how to take your team with you

  • You improve yourself everyday to drive innovation and you take an efficient team to the next level, while ensuring a culture of learning, knowledge sharing and collaboration

  • Your way of communication is structured and transparent as well as polite but clear

  • You have a growth mindset and can quickly adapt to change

  • High level of creativity, there’s all the freedom to think outside of the box

  • Fluent English skills

The interview process will be in 4 stages and should be completed in less than 4 weeks:

1st Interview with one of our Talent Acquisition partners - this will be a get to meet you interview, sharing more details about you and discussing the role and FREE NOW in general

2nd – Case Study: Imagine you are the Engineering Manager of one of our FinTech engineering teams and one of your engineers approaches you with an idea. Please help your engineer to check how good the idea is, support to take the idea to the next level and open perspectives which options you as a team will have to actually implement it.

3rd – Hiring Managers interview: Meet with the HM to discuss your career, what is important to you, and what FREE NOW can do to make you successful.

4th – Meet the Team. Get to know your team and what makes these people tick.
