Job Description

We are recruiting for an influential leader to manage day-to-day accounting operations staff, produce financial reports, and maintain robust, efficient, progressive accounting systems and procedures. This exciting role will be a crucial partner to the CFO.


The Controller will lead all day-to-day finance operations of a budget of $100 million and supervise a team of ten staff members, including functional responsibility for accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. The Controller will work closely with program leaders and their staff to educate them regarding finance and accounting procedures and explore how the finance function can support program operations.

The Controller will ensure that the systems and processes support effective program implementation and conduct flawless audits. In addition, she or he will partner with the CFO, CEO, senior leadership, and the human resources (HR) and information technology (IT) staff to enhance and better integrate finance, HR, and IT functions.

Job Skill Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration, MBA preferred. 5-10 years experience in accounting
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Proven working experience as a Controller
  • Advanced degree in Accounting and 10+ years of accounting/finance experience in the distribution industry required
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Cost accounting and inventory experience
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Positive attitude and good collaboration skills
  • Experience with General Ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Hands-on experience performing accounting functions using ERP/CRM systems
  • Working knowledge of federal and state financial regulations
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet, and other system experience
