About our Inspection Facility

A premier experience begins with a great product, and the team members at our Elkhart Inspection Facility play a crucial role in our operations. Located in Bristol and just minutes away from the RV/MH Hall of Fame, our Inspection Facility serves as a check point where new units are received from manufacturers to undergo inspection and rigorous testing before continuing on to General RV dealerships. 



The successful buyer will be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of relationships, inventory levels, and purchase orders. This person will be responsible for creating tracking systems, minimum and maximum inventory levels, and a partnered connection with our corporate office. In addition, the role will be the primary contact for vendors and any questions they might have along the way. The successful candidate will have both manufacturing and supply chain management experience


  • Purchase goods, materials, and components in line with the specified costs, quality, and delivery targets

  • Establish a collaborative team environment to optimize the materials, warehouse, and supply chain needs of the business.

  • Develop an efficient and accurate system for monitoring all open purchase orders

  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations

  • Work with the inventory specialist to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders

  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers

  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible

  • Deliver briefs, updates and reports as and when required

  • Develop creative and innovative procurement processes

  • Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement

  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods

  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities on an annual basis

  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships

  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials as needed

  • Assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers

  • Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers and in line with organizational targets and requirements

  • Undertake research on and thoroughly evaluate existing and new suppliers

  • Contact suppliers purposefully to resolve price, quality, and delivery or invoice issues


  • Minimum of High School diploma required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or other relevant field is required

  • At least 3-5 years of management experience

  • At least 8-10 years of previous senior buyer or leader

  • APICS Certification preferred

  • Manufacturing and supply chain proficiency

  • Highly skilled at building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with all stakeholders and suppliers

  • Comprehensive computer, ERP and advanced Excel proficiency

  • Strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving skills

  • Results oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against production deadlines

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of RV / automotive processes and components and supply chain management

  • Impeccable attention to details and accuracy

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent attendance
