Job description πŸ€“


  • We are looking for an agile-minded backend developer to join our platforms team
  • You will be working hands-on in our Platforms team. We are looking for keen engineers who want to build a first-class platform for product engineers in Veeqo, streamlining how fast an idea can be delivered and scaled into production.
  • Collaborate and communicate with DevOps & product teams, to understand key platform issues and solve complex problems
  • You may be involved in higher-level architecture discussions and design with the CTO

  • Support on big fire-fighting issues such as app outages


What do we expect from you


Required


  • Very strong knowledge of Ruby programming language and experience working with Ruby on Rails
  • Back and front-end testing - unit and functional tests
  • Git and ideally GitHub experience
  • Strong sense of code quality and contributing to coding standards
  • Solid understanding of scalability and user experience
  • An appetite for learning and trying new technologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management

Nice to haves (not required)


  • Experience in building developer tooling
  • Experience in the web stack: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ReactJS (or similar)
  • Knowledge of how Webpack, Babel and front-end tooling work
  • Experience in working within the e-commerce space
  • An understanding of the order fulfilment process for online retailers
