Responsibilities

UVVC is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the development and implementation of accounting systems with a strong emphasis on internal controls, conformity to generally accepted accounting principles and risk management. This position reports to the Controller and is located at our corporate office in Tampa (Carrollwood).The Accounting Manager will lead and motivate accounting staff members and increase department accuracy and efficiency. They will delegate, supervise, and participate in accounting department tasks, oversee the recording, tracking, and reporting of financial information, hire, train, and motivate accounting staff members, develop and implement department controls and procedures, and ensure that the department operates efficiently without sacrificing accuracy.

Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships.

Ensure the accuracy and timely completion of assigned tasks.

Oversee the daily activities of the accounting department including cash reconciliations, accrued revenue, prepaid expense allocations, adjusting net fixed assets, inventory valuation, rent payment reconciliations, accrued rebates, accrued expenses, and accrued payroll and related liabilities.

Ensure timely completion of month-end closes.

Produce timely financial statements including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, Twelve Month Trend Analysis and Comparative Income Statement in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Coordinate with the Director of FP&A to identify and analyze favorable and unfavorable budget variances.

Participate in the implementation of NetAsset, NetLease, and the purchase order functionality in NetSuite.

Maintain fixed asset in NetAsset by recognizing and recording fixed assets in accordance with departmental policy and depreciate and maintain book balances in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Maintain and adjust present values of real estate leases and related lease payment liabilities to actual in accordance with new accounting standard ASC 842.

Strengthen the internal control structure and develop or enhance standard operation procedures.

Assist in managing external financial audits by producing audit workpapers and source documents and completing the open items list supplied by external auditors.

Assist other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.

Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; MBA preferred.

CPA preferred.

Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

5 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.

Working knowledge of various ERP systems including Oracle/NetSuite, Salesforce, and UKG preferred.

Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.

Dependable; able to meet reliable attendance and punctuality standards.
