Job Description

Accelo is seeking an Accounting Director to join our Finance & Operations Team, based out of our Denver office but supporting our international business and worldwide client base. While working in a fast-paced, growing SaaS company, this position will be responsible for directing accounting and revenue reporting, overseeing our automated billing engine, liaising with our auditors, partnering with our tax advisors, and reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this role provides a great opportunity to collaborate with multiple departments including Operations, Sales, and Customer Success. 

As the Director of Accounting, you'll be responsible for building a dynamic accounting infrastructure and team that can scale with the company.
What you’ll do…

Direct monthly, quarterly and annual close processes including oversight of ledger activities, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and internal financial reporting
Partner with VP of Finance and operations team to re-engineer internal controls, policies and processes
Lead accounting system implementation project
Collaborate with VP of Finance to develop and direct monthly budget to actual reporting and analysis processes
Direct the preparation for and coordination of annual audit performed by external auditors
Assist with due diligence activities and data room maintenance
Oversight all aspects of orders or client contracts, including pricing, to ensure compliance with Company policies and proper month end cut-off
Oversight of records management including client and vendor contracts and other documents.
Manage software subscription renewals
Oversight of variable comp calculations
Work directly with internal and external customers to resolve billing and contract problems/issues
Collaborate with management on possible revenue impacts from existing and upcoming customer contracts
Analyze monthly invoices and revenue results for assigned accounts
Other tasks and projects as needed in the Finance and Operations Department

What you’ll bring...

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field/experience
CPA qualification highly desired
6-10 years of experience in both audit and corporate accounting preferred 
Experience with drafting financial statements, disclosure, monthly/quarterly reporting packages for exec team and board
Proficient understanding of U.S. GAAP guidelines (Experience with ASC 606 preferred)
Self-starter that takes initiative in developing and improving finance department procedures
Experience with cloud-based accounting systems. Experience with NetSuite a plus
Extensive level of proficiency in Excel and G-Sheets
Familiarity with technical accounting research and drafting position memos
Strong problem-solving skills, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multi-tasking skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Commitment to providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders

It’s a plus if you have… 

Prior experience with accounting/finance for a SaaS company
International accounting experience 
Experience in fast-paced environments
High comfort level with both self initiative and collaboration when establishing processes, priorities, and high standards
Experience collaborating with remote teams

Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 base salary depending on experience
