AI Engineer - Freelance [Remote]

RATE: Our client is looking to pay $60,000 – $80,000/yr

ESTIMATED DURATION: 40h/week - Long term

THE OPPORTUNITY

Requirements & Qualifications

Prior experience designing, building, and maintaining conversational virtual agents using platforms such as Google Dialogflow, Amazon Lex, IBM Watson, or Azure Bot Service.

Highly motivated, proactive, detail oriented, and accountable.

Exposure to full stack development, from setting up cloud projects and infrastructure to integrating with REST APIs to writing web applications.

Extensive experience developing enterprise-grade applications with clean, logical code and efficient design.

Translate business challenges into technical requirements with the help of a product manager

Working in the API layer with security, logging, throttling, and modifying requests and responses.

Ability to manage and complete multiple projects and activities with strict time sensitive deadlines.

Excellent communication skills, and comfortable communicating in serious scenarios.

2+ years of relevant work experience in chatbot/voicebot development, conversational AI, or software engineering.

5+ years experience as a software engineer (writing code with scripting languages, including PHP, Python, and JavaScript).

3+ years experience with Laravel 5+ Framework.

Git workflow with GitHub (or similar).

Experience with Linux environment.

Experience using cloud offerings and solutions (Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, or Amazon AWS).

Nice to have

OpenSearch / Elasticsearch experience.

Exposure to relational and NoSQL datastores.

Familiarity with frontend web technologies, particularly VueJS or React.

Experience optimizing applications for non-functional requirements, i.e., usability, maintainability, scalability, availability, security, portability, etc.

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, CpE, IS, or mathematics.

They are looking for a well-rounded, expert AI Engineer. You will be in charge of designing and implementing a bot builder platform for their customers utilizing Google Cloud Dialogflow and Contact Center AI technologies. They are developing chatbots and voice-based applications (IVAs) for customers that span a wide variety of industries, including retail, technology, healthcare, and hospitality, each with their own unique use cases. AI engineers will work closely with their AI product manager to develop a high-quality bot builder platform that is well integrated with their contact center software.

Responsibilities

Develop chatbot and voicebot builder using Dialogflow and Google Cloud’s Contact Center AI platform

Develop integrations to or from other software, such as live agent transfer, telephony routing, or analytics and logging platforms

Assist in certifying virtual agent flows by providing test cases and testing support for the QA and UAT process and related deployment activities

Lead activities to help diagnose and resolve chatbot issues during development and in production

Create best-in-class architecture design for a conversational chatbot that is optimized for performance and quality

Coach other developers and product managers in techniques, ideas and processes
