Sterilization Technician

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with our dynamic team in an organization of innovation, growth and change. This position requires a dedicated team player, responsible for production duties in the Solution Preparation and/or Sterilization area in accordance with prescribed procedures.

Essential Functions

Prepare chemical solutions according to prescribed procedures and techniques and operate the applicable equipment for solution preparation.

Transfer and chemically sterilize valves according to prescribed procedures and techniques

Maintain organization and cleanliness of working area.

Use proper lab techniques.

Operate equipment following written procedures.

Perform daily monitoring of equipment as required.

Clean and sterilize glassware, instruments, carboys and other equipment.

Clean and prepare containers and closures.

Assure logbooks/daily production logs and time system is accurately maintained. Performs data collection and entry into storage medium (e.g. – travelers, forms or computer).

Maintain traceability and proper documentation on all materials and components processed through the area.

Perform cleaning of controlled environment and gowning area in accordance with prescribed procedures.

Handle chemicals in the manner trained.

Must work and communicate well with co-workers and supervision in a team environment following departmental and company guidelines.

Communicates work related issues using an e-mail and/or in person. Is responsible for ensuring work instructions, work schedules, work information are clearly understood.

Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

Walking and standing for extended periods

Work in a controlled environment requiring special garments, gloves, masks, etc which can be confining

Frequent use of safety equipment (i.e. goggles and respirators)

Lifting and carrying up to fifty pounds

Handling caustic chemicals

Further requirements:

High school education or equivalent required. Post-Secondary courses in chemistry field is preferred.

1-2 years laboratory experience or 3-6 months experience as a Solution Preparation/ Sterilization Technician is preferred Ability to do repetitive work within guidelines and maintain precise records/ electronic entries.

Demonstrated ability to perform tasks with extreme detail, accuracy and

speed.

Ability to read and understand instructions, rules and written procedures written in English.

Must have basic computer skills

Able to work well with co-workers in a team environment.
