Controller - Multifamily Investment Firm

* Manage a team of 6 accountants and support staff. * Oversee the close process for entities ranging in size and complexity* Manage the review process for journal entries during month-end, quarter, and annual close processes, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of account reconciliations while maintaining high quality standards for their completion* Review and analyze actual performance against budgeted or forecasted performance and prepare interpretations and reports in order to explain budget variances* Handle payroll and benefits administration for a small number of leadership employees* Advise and alert senior leadership and key managers to variances and trends in financial performance which may require management attention* Lead the accounting group providing coaching, training, and development to build a high performing team focused on technical excellence.
