
Supervisor, Nutrition Services

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the department manager, oversees the day-to-day operations and employee performance of the Food Services Department, to include patient food services, and/or cafeteria and/or catering services. Exercises discretionary judgment in solving problems, working with, and evaluating employees. Uses working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, procedures, and general principles and practices of the Food Service Department.
Qualifications
Education:
Associate degree in a related field, or equivalent experience, required. Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, preferred.
Experience:
Three years previous food production experience required; three years supervisory experience in a high volume establishment preferred. Three years of hospital supervisory experience preferred.
Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge and concepts of food sciences including recipe development, food safety, and product quality standards. Demonstrated a strong understanding of patient diets. Understands Café Food Service standards and concepts that will maintain or increase sales. Demonstrated ability to organize and lead staff. Knowledge of computers and appropriate software programs required. Working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws and techniques required. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks. Demonstrated ability to remain calm and collected in stressful situations
