Job Summary: Reporting to the Manager, General Accounting, the General Accountant position will be a key member of the Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing financial reporting and support to the North American Harlequin business units as it relates to Overheads, Royalty and various balance sheet accounts. Preparation of account analysis on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities

• Process invoice submissions into Bottomline for payment. Ensure correct coding is being used and payments are being processed on a timely basis. This may include invoices from various suppliers (Outside storage, DTC, HCC, Artwork, Purchasing credit cards).• Monthly preparation of account analysis and input into Blackline.• Create PDF invoices on request for subrights and royalty income• Manage requests from Licensees for Certificate of Residency tax forms. Work with the Tax department to ensure timely completion.• Processing of royalty waivers in Bottomline. Work with Global Royalty group to ensure accurate author information is on the forms.• Departmental Overheads: assist with journal entries, reclasses and analysis of Toronto & New York business units. This may include participation in Outlooks and Budget.• Monitor incoming physical mail and coordinate scanning invoices and sending to appropriate personnel. Organize physical cheques for deposit and coordinate with office services for timing of deposit.• Provide backup support for Riskcenter vendor approval process.• Provide backup support for Invoice Coordinator.

Qualifications

Specific training or job experience required includes:• University/College degree in commerce, business, or accounting• Enrolled in CPA preferred • Minimum three years of experience in financial and/or business environment preferred• Strong PC skills (MS office applications, advanced Excel)• Strong organizational and time management skills
