Fastmarkets was founded in 1913 (as Metal Bulletin) and is a privately held UK-registered company. It is owned by global private equity firm Astorg, a specialist investor in healthcare, software, technology, business services and technology-based industrial companies.

About the role

The role will require a proactive attitude to effectively prioritise and scope work, agree outcomes and deliver according to timescales, often managing multiple activities in parallel.

Principle accountabilities

Plan and drive completion of all Risk and Compliance deliverables on a large project identifying key areas of scope, actively managing risks, and highlighting any issues

Set up and manage the planning and delivery of Risk & Compliance activities relating to company acquisitions

To structure and/or review internal and industry best practices, Risk/Compliance guidance and make recommendations

Lead the review of Global Compliance policies based on Fastmarkets business and the changing regulatory environment

Advise and manage the implementation of controls and processes to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements

To assist with the documentation of internal policies and procedures.

Proven experience compliance experience

Ability to operate at all levels within the firm

Self-motivated, strong organisation and communication skills including diplomacy in offering challenge

Critical problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly

Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask

A completer/finisher who is tenacious in achieving goals and reaching deadlines

Knowledge of current techniques in operational risk management, controls, and operational soundness

Knowledge of IOSCO/BMR would be advantageous.
