Senior Cloud Opertations Engineer

Responsibilities

The Cloud Operations Engineer role is responsible for overall support, performance and development of NWN’s cloud data centers.

Scope of Role Responsibilities

Essential, key job responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

Deploy, support and maintain the technology within NWN’s Cloud Hosted Data Centers.

Deploying, support and maintain our customers UCCE and UCCX cloud environments.

Work with and master many enterprise products from the following vendors: Cisco, Microsoft, NetApp, HP, VMware, and EMC.

Create test and lab environments to verify new code and test new environments.

Provide Design assistance in new offering development.

Provide Level 4 Escalation support from support engineers.

Additional job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Manage the enablement of deploying new versions of Cisco UCCE and UCC.

Manage the provisioning of deploying the underlying technology to support UCCE and UCC.

Examples, Network, Compute, Storage, Virtualization, Application

Troubleshoot any issues related to Cisco and 3rd parties related to UCCE and UCCX deployments.

Work with Technology Team to successfully monitor new technologies.

Work with NOC and Technology Team enhance monitoring capabilities to reduce event and alert noise presented to the NOC.

Interact with engineering to resolve any issues before, during, or after upgrade engagements for UC, UCCE, UCCX and any related environments or Infrastructure.

Provide continued input to management regarding new ideas and concepts to improve overall quality of service to our clients and partners.

Drive process and procedures around new rollouts and deployment strategies.

Interact with clients to resolve any issues before, during, or after service upgrade engagements.

Participate in creating standard operating procedures and processes. Document and adhere to said processes.

Assist in building SOPs and Processes into technology systems.

Assist in planning and execution of customer disaster recovery tests.

Provide Support and training to Network Operations Engineers.

Assist in inventory management of all NWN assets inside the NWN Data Centers.

Qualifications

Role Qualifications and Requirements

The following are minimum qualifications and requirements required for this role:

10-15 Years of experience managing/supporting and or deploying systems.

Multiple major vendor certification (Microsoft MCSE, MCITP, CCDA, CCNP, CCIE, CCNA, VCP, Citrix CCEA, etc.).

Strong interpersonal skills including being comfortable, poised, and affable with senior level executives.

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Analytical troubleshooting skills.

Ability to multitask is essential.

Must be able to effectively work in a team environment.

Demonstrated ability to execute and advise engineering team members on proper solutions best practices for implementation and maintenance of technologies included in NWN Offerings:

UCCX and UCCE technologies.

Security

Compute, Storage and Server technologies

Provide continued input to management regarding new ideas and concepts to improve overall quality of service upgrades to our clients and partners.

The following qualifications are ideal, but not required:

Associate’s degree preferred.
