Summary of Position Description:The Scribe-X medical scribe is a critical member of the patient care team. Medical scribes will work side-by-side a healthcare provider to document patient encounters in real-time. Medical scribe training is provided to all scribes to assure they are prepared to support their assigned provider(s).SCHEDULE: Tues / Thurs ; 8a-5pDuties of a Medical ScribeThis position requires the scribe to work in-person at a Women's Health ClinicPerform chart preparation per clinic protocolAccompany the provider in all scheduled patient visitsDocument the patient history, physical exam, procedures, and patient plan, as performed by the providerRemind provider of relevant quality metrics when appropriate, documenting to support quality metricsEnter laboratory and radiographic studies, as ordered by the providerEnter in medication orders, as dictated by the providerDocument and print instructions for the patientReview completed charts with the provider between patients or at the completion of shiftUpdate provider preference and clinic preference documents as necessaryEducation and SkillsExcellent verbal and written English skillsStrong computer skills with the ability to learn and navigate new software quicklyHealthcare track (e.g. pre-med, pre-PA, pre-nursing) is preferredBachelor’s degree strongly preferred with a GPA of 3.00 or greaterHigh School diploma or equivalent requiredOn-site scribes will be required to walk and/or stand for multiple hours at a time.Most assignments require a typing speed of at least 60 WPMSome assignments require a typing speed of at least 80 WPMSpanish-speakers are eligible for a higher pay.BenefitsOpportunity for letters of recommendation from providersGain patient contact hoursPaid time-off on an accrual basisUp to $150/month reimbursement for a healthcare plan Scribe-X is the nation’s premier medical scribe services company.
