What you’ll do

As Senior Product Manager, you are challenged to define a strategy, vision for Cards. Work with the engineering teams to build the right product by creating and maintaining the strategy and the roadmap of your service offerings. Define the functional building blocks of your product by harnessing deep technical expertise and formulating close collaboration with your internal and external stakeholders.

Outcomes:1. Define and Maintain the Cards roadmap

Use your business and technical skills to decide on Cards features and requirements to solve specific customer problems and business needs

Continuously communicate with Delivery, Support, Customer Success, Sales and Solution Engineering, to validate any assumptions on the problems / challenges, commitments made and adjust the roadmap accordingly

Ensure that initiatives in the roadmap are directly aligned with the strategic objectives of the Product organisation

Conduct vendor qualification processes to select the best partners to integrate with to provide best end to end one stop shop for our customers

Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples

Be an expert with respect to the competition

Act as a leader within the company

2. Ensure outcome-focused communication of the progress of the product area

Define key outcome-based metrics per each initiative and continuously communicate on the progress towards reaching the objective

Become involved in non-functional aspects of software delivery such as application telemetry, performance, reliability, resilience, security and compliance

3. Work with the engineering teams to build the right products

Understand the specific challenges of the Mambu business and how Card Issuing and Processing capabilities are contributing to Mambu’s success

Propose solutions to the engineering teams, defining the functional building blocks of your product with consideration for product positioning, integrability and scalability

Work closely with product owner, engineering manager and engineering team, jointly defining the functional architecture components, defining epics and user stories for the team and reviewing the implementation outcomes

Lead requirements-gathering sessions, such as backlog refinement and specification by example workshops

Help the team prioritise the items in the backlog based on actual impact, ensuring a clear direction for the near term

Identify market opportunities that would give Mambu a functional or technical edge over the competition

Ensure vendor APIs, sandbox and other integration systems are in place for the team to implement the integration

4. Actively communicate with the rest of the organisation and with clients

Ensure continuous and consistent communication on the strategy and the roadmap within Mambu

Help create and maintain Sales and Marketing enablement materials, related to the Card Issuing and Processing

Maintain a healthy and meaningful relationship with the Mambu customers

What you’ll bring

Your experience includes:

Passion and interest for banking, fintech or financial inclusion products and services;

Academic degree in a Technical Software field (computer science or equivalent) and/or a Business degree in Economics / Accountancy or similar;

Deep technical understanding of card lifecycle management and issuer-processor transaction processes;

Hands-on experience in working with a card issuer-processor (Marqeta, GPS, MPTS etc) is a big plus;

Good knowledge of card schemes such as Visa, Mastercard, Discover, UnionPay etc;

Experience of working in a Product-led SaaS company / start-up environment;

Experience in building and releasing products from scratch is a big plus. Good understanding of software design and architecture;

Minimum 5+ years of relevant expertise in Product Management, specifically managing card issuer and processing products;

A good understanding of Rest APIs, both functional and technical;

Outstanding analytical and data driven decision-making skills;
