If you answered yes to all three, then you could be the Learning Experience Consultant we are looking for.

So, what is a Learning Experience Consultant?

Job titles can be an enigma these days, so let’s break it down a little! Our Learning Experience Consultants (or LExC’s for short) play a pivotal role at Sponge. With strong commercial acumen, senior stakeholder management, and a track record in strategic learning consultancy, they build and maintain partnerships with multi-million-dollar brands on a global scale.

With a deep knowledge of learning science, experience design, and consultative approaches, they shape our solutions to clients’ challenges, delight learners, and inspire behavioural change with measurable results. When they're not facilitating creative workshops, designing award-winning learning experiences, or delivering holistic learning strategies, you'll find our LExCs in podcasts, webinars, and events - showcasing the very best of what the L&D industry offers.

But they can't do this alone. LExCs develop robust partnerships across our Sponge disciplines - liaising with Account Managers, Creative Services, Product, and Marketing to deliver and inspire with holistic Sponge solutions.

We need people who will:

Lead as an independent consultative partner in the design and delivery of effective learning experiences to solve business challenges - using a range of products and services

Confidently and articulately advise for senior stakeholders within the world's biggest brands

Navigate seamlessly between pre-sales, consultancy, and in-project delivery - providing inspiration and direction at every step

Embrace data to measure success and continuously evolve our strategic partnerships

Demonstrate a keen commercial acumen

Use their knowledge of applied learning science and human-centred design every single day to make amazing things happen

Influence our organisation, and the industry, with strategic insights into best practice across product and process

Share their knowledge across our social channels, and at industry events

Proactively identify ways to improve or try new things, leading internal initiatives to enhance our own business performance

Support the development of others through knowledge sharing, coaching, and mentoring

We need people who can demonstrate:

Consultative experience in delivering high-value solutions to global clients

A broad knowledge of applied learning science human-centred design

An active presence and engagement within the digital learning industry and beyond

Expertise across a range of business sectors and performance challenges

Resilience under pressure and highly collaborative spirit

Consistent striving for excellence - and an allergic reaction to 'good enough'!

Location - Hybrid (Location Bristol, Edinburgh, or Plymouth)

Our new headquarters is in the Bristol area, however you will ideally be based within an hour’s travelling distance of one of our offices.

We offer a mix of home and office working because we believe both are necessary for a high performing team. We know you need some time to concentrate and avoid constant commuting, so homeworking is essential, but we also feel face-to-face time is important too.

We work in a Hybrid way with ideally 2/3 days per week in the office and the rest of the week worked remotely. We offer flexible working options also to help find the right work-life balance for you.

We currently have main offices in the UK in Bristol, Plymouth, Glasgow, and in Europe in Berlin and Brussels.
