SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

As the Senior Project Manager, you are a senior member of the Fleet Project Management Office acting as a single point authority in relation to internal and external stakeholders, with respect to the projects assigned by the Director, FPMO. You supervise and train Project Coordinators, support departmental resource planning, lead inter-departmental improvement initiatives and provide a single interface in supporting Fleet Engineering Superintendents on vessel long range planning, project interfaces, project delivery quality, budgets and standardization.

In additional, you are also responsible for the execution of vessel projects to ensure that the Project Team delivers the defined project scope and deliverables within budget, on schedule, at the required level of quality, and within the acceptable level of health, safety, security and environment risk.

You work with Project Team and Owners to develop project plans, including but not limited to requirements gathering, specification development, WBS, budget preparation, cash flow forecasting, vessel and project scheduling, risk planning, resource allocation planning, procurement planning, quality planning and communication planning.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished maritime professional with five or more years’ experience in a leadership role, and ten or more years of hands-on management experience in multi-faceted projects, preferably within a shipbuilding, ship repair or marine operations environment. Ideally, you have a Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Professional Engineer designation in a relevant field. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office Programs, Maximo, and Cognos/Oracle or similar financial performance and database management systems is an asset. Formal training in project management or financial management would also be an advantage.

Occasional travel and placement in overseas shipyards might be required; the successful candidate should be prepared to take on such assignments.
