About the team:

The legal team advises and supports Parity across all of the business. We are a fun hardworking team of 4 lawyers, 1 Trainee lawyer and 1 paralegal headed up by the General Counsel (Chrissy Hill). The work of the team is varied and challenging supporting a fast moving business which is growing rapidly.

About the position:

Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel the Legal Counsel provides proactive legal support to all area of the business and is responsible for the following:

Supporting the development and management of Parity’s IP strategy liaising with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel

Assisting in the review and drafting of commercial contracts, NDA’s and other legal agreements across the business

Advising on data privacy issues and managing a project to migrate data privacy to external counsel

Managing corporate governance including company secretarial work (using the services of an external company secretary), board minutes, signing of PoA’s

Ad hoc legal projects as required to meet the needs of the business as it expands internationally

Providing legal support and advice to back office functions including operations, marketing and finance

Supervising the work of a trainee lawyer and paralegal within the team

About you:

You are 5-8 years pqe lawyer with a minimum of 4 years in house experience in a legal team working in an international environment

You are commercially aware with all round in house legal experience, preferably within a technological environment (desirable but not essential)

Experience of providing corporate legal support is essential and it would be an advantage to have experience of advising on IP matters

You enjoy and have experience of working proactively across a range of matters and projects in a fast paced and unstructured environment

You have excellent communication skills and have experience of developing effective working relationships at all levels and across all functions

You enjoy working in a small team and have a good sense of humour
