Position Summary: Terray is currently seeking a motivated and creative data engineer. As a key member of our Computational and Data Sciences team, the candidate will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining our database schemas and supporting software to interface with our databases.

The core responsibilities of this position are:

Build, maintain, and improve our software to connect to and query our databases and data warehouse

Collaborate on database schema design to support multiple company functions

Write, maintain, and optimize SQL queries for internal KPIs and analytics

Write unit tests, assist with documentation, and participate in code review process

Required Qualifications:

BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field

Highly proficient in Python; Experience in Django is a plus

Proficiency in Linux environment, experience with database languages, and experience with version control practices and tools

Familiar with AWS cloud resources

Demonstrated ability to write high-quality, production-ready code

Experience with designing and implementing performant database schemas

Experience writing and running database migrations in production environments

Experience with container build and deployment systems like Docker

Understanding of CI/CD and Agile software engineering practices

Knowledge of coding best practices, including standards, reviews, version control, and unit testing
